Process

From log to container

Eight stations, one workshop, one team. Each piece passes every one.

  1. Timber yard

Logs and sawn boards arrive from managed plantations and are sorted by species and grade before anything is cut.

  2. Kiln drying

Boards are stacked with spacers and dried in the kiln to 10–12 % moisture content.

  3. Joinery

Mortise and tenon, matched grain, glue-ups clamped overnight.

  4. Carving and sanding

Carving by hand where the design asks for it, then three stages of sanding.

  5. Finishing

Oil, stain or lacquer, sprayed or brushed in a dedicated booth.

  6. Quality check

Dimensions, joints and finish are checked against the order sheet.

  7. Packing

Corner guards, foam, cartons and bracing sized per piece.

  8. Loading

Loaded by hand and forklift, braced, sealed and photographed.

The workshop

Who makes it

Most of our carpenters learned in Jepara workshops and many have worked here for over a decade. The person who planes your table top also checks it at the end of the line.

We keep the team in one place so a drawing can go from the office to the bench in a day, and a question from a buyer reaches the person who made the piece.
